Murderous Shades of Controversial Happenings: 'Painting' by Cornelius Eady Trio is a tapestry of fazing political complications paired with dynamic, plunging harmonies.
"Two of the songs, "Come and Get Your Boy" and "God Will Get The Glory," were written as part of a radio program I did for BBC Radio 4, where I interviewed the African-American fathers of sons who were killed by the police," states the artist regarding two of the most powerful tracks featured in the album. This release, 'Painting' by the Alternative music band, preceded the profoundly moving EP titled 'Withstand'-- a set of flawlessly crafted emotionally-evoking songs circling the issues of American politics and more-- that inspired the artists to sculpt a full-length album.
Sheltering power-infused acoustic rhythms of Charlie Rauh's guitar riffs rippling rounds of refreshment, and Lisa Liu's fantastic work on acoustic guitar and keyboards, 'Painting' is an eight-track masterpiece that curtains a series of symphonies ranging issues from the domestic to the politics. Although the project houses acoustic instrumentals, the aura it gives is exceptionally bold and passionate, shadowing a sense of entirety.
Commencing with a mellow track 'Come and Take Your Boy' consisting of a beautiful combination of guitar riffs and leisurely laid-back vocals, 'Painting' is a compilation of poetry bleeding into the shades of sonic fragments. Packed with power and mesmerizing tunes and tones, this latest set of records by Cornelius Eady Trio oozes out drips and drops of the artistry of folk and softness.
